Iris von Arnim Düsseldorf
The Düsseldorf store, with its elongated layout of nearly 20m length and only 4m width but generous height, presents unique challenges. Limited natural light due to just two shop windows prompted a creative solution: a floating room divider subtly divides the space into distinct areas like entrance, showroom, central counter, and seating section.
Made of satin-finished mirror panels, this divider not only modulates the space but also creates alcoves for product displays. Within its depths hide stairs, changing rooms, and technical elements. The strategic arrangement of mirrors extends the perceived size of the space, evoking a hall of mirrors effect, particularly beneficial in dressing areas.
Merchandise presentation employs a modular rod system, effortlessly decorating the space with minimal floor sockets and versatile display bars of varying lengths.
The center piece is the counter block, surrounded by shelves of frosted glass casting a silky translucency that plays with the delicate cashmere collection. Meanwhile, the raw, dark grey ceiling and walls recede into the background, focusing attention on the room divider's horizon and vibrant collection pieces.
Accentuating the space is the terrazzo floor, crafted from Rhine sand, imbuing a warm sandy undertone throughout. This juxtaposition of elements creates a visually striking and functional retail environment, where every detail is meticulously crafted to enhance the customer's shopping experience.
